Meet Your Colorado Pediatric Dentist
Dr. Sanaz Merchi was born in Tehran, Iran, and raised in sunny Central Florida before making Colorado her home, where she enjoys the mountains and everything that comes with high-elevation living.
Education & Specialized Pediatric Training
Dr. Sanaz earned her bachelor’s degree in Microbiology and Molecular Biology from the University of Central Florida, graduating magna cum laude. She then received her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from Nova Southeastern University in 2018.
Following dental school, Dr. Sanaz completed a one-year General Practice Residency at Helen Hayes Hospital in New York, where she provided dental care exclusively for patients with special healthcare needs. She then completed a two-year Pediatric Dentistry Residency at Staten Island University Hospital, where she received advanced training in caring for infants, children, adolescents, and children with special needs.
Board Certification & Professional Involvement
Dr. Sanaz is a board-certified pediatric dentist and a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the Colorado Dental Association, and the Metro Denver Dental Society. She has also participated in multiple dental mission trips, providing care to underserved communities.
A Personalized Approach to Pediatric Dentistry
Dr. Sanaz believes that every child is unique and deserves an individualized approach to dental care. Her goal is to create positive dental experiences that help children feel safe, comfortable, and even excited to visit the dentist. She loves using storytelling, games, laughter, and a little bit of silliness to help children relax and build confidence during their appointments.

Life Beyond the Dental Office
When she’s not in the office, Dr. Sanaz loves exploring Colorado, traveling, hiking, Pilates, and boxing. She’s an enthusiastic foodie who enjoys baking, recreating recipes inspired by her favorite movies and TV shows, and discovering new restaurants wherever she travels. She’s also a lifelong Harry Potter fan and proudly embraces all things magical.
Most importantly, she loves spending time with her family, friends, and her beloved dog, Griffey. Griffey is a fully certified service dog who is currently training to become a therapy dog. If you happen to see him around the office, be sure to say hello—he’s always happy to make new friends!
