SureSmile® Clear Aligners
SureSmile® clear aligners prove that effective orthodontic treatment doesn’t have to be difficult. These ingenious appliances have helped millions straighten their teeth and achieve better-looking smiles, and they can help you too.
SureSmile® Clear Aligners
SureSmile® aligners are an effective and discreet orthodontic treatment option that are worn comfortably over your teeth to continuously adjust alignment and spacing.
SureSmile® aligners are custom-made using models of both your current teeth and the result you hope to achieve. With SureSmile® aligners, you will switch to new aligners about every two weeks with each set shifting the teeth slightly—this continues until you have achieved your final results, which usually takes about two years.
You remove the SureSmile® aligners for eating, drinking, and cleaning only. At first, they will feel very tight, but they will begin to loosen and feel more comfortable after a few days.

What are SureSmile® Clear Aligners?
SureSmile® Clear Aligners are a modern orthodontic treatment that uses a series of custom-made, removable clear plastic trays to gradually straighten teeth. Each set of aligners is engineered using advanced 3D digital imaging to precisely map out tooth movement from start to finish. At Grin Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics, we offer SureSmile® as an effective, discreet alternative to traditional braces for eligible patients.

Are clear aligners effective for teenagers?
Yes — SureSmile® Clear Aligners are a proven treatment option for teens and adolescents with mild to moderate orthodontic concerns, including crowding, spacing, and many bite issues. They aren’t the right fit for every case, which is why we complete a thorough evaluation before recommending any treatment. Our orthodontists will help you determine whether clear aligners or traditional braces are the better choice based on your child’s specific needs.
-
How many hours a day do clear aligners need to be worn?
For SureSmile® aligners to work effectively, they need to be worn 20 to 22 hours per day. They should only be removed for eating, drinking anything other than plain water, and brushing and flossing. Consistent wear is essential — skipping hours regularly can slow progress and extend treatment time.
-
How often does my child switch to a new set of aligners?
Most patients move to a new set of aligners every one to two weeks, following the prescribed treatment schedule. We also schedule progress appointments every six to eight weeks to make sure the teeth are tracking correctly and to make any needed adjustments to the plan.

What are the advantages of SureSmile® clear aligners over metal braces?
SureSmile® aligners are virtually invisible, making them a popular choice for image-conscious teens. Because they’re removable, there are no food restrictions and oral hygiene is easy — your child simply takes the aligners out to brush and floss normally. Many patients also find aligners more comfortable than braces since there are no brackets or wires to irritate the lips or cheeks.
